Botswana is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, borders South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west and north, and Zimbabwe to the north-east. Botswana population in 2024 is estimated to be 2.57 million, covers country area of 581,730 sq km (224,610 sq mi), ranks forty-seventh country by area and the one-hundred-forty-forth most populous country in the world. Its capital is Gaborone and largest city, other popular cities are Francistown, Molepolole, Maun, Mogoditshane and Selibe Phikwe. Botswana is connected to Zambia across the short Zambezi River border by the Kazungula Bridge, Country code is BWA, The official language of Botswana is English, Setswana is widely spoken across the country with more than 77 percent of population.
Botswana is considered a peaceful country, There are many issues in the country such as HIV/AIDS, poverty, inequality and unemployment, thereby increasing crime rate. Government needs to address the root causes of problems in the country in order to build a more secure society for the people.
