Canberra is the capital city of Australia, located at the northern part of the Australia. Canberra has the highest average disposable income of any Australian capital city. The median weekly rent paid by Canberra residents is higher than rents in all other states and territories, and median house price in Canberra as of 2020 was lower than only Sydney among capital cities of more than 100,000 people, having surpassed Melbourne and Perth. Canberra's inner-city area was originally designed by Walter Burley Griffin. The Australian Capital Territory has its own Legislative Assembly which performs the roles of both a city council for the city and a territory government. Canberra name is popular and derived from the word Kambera or Canberry, means "meeting place" in Ngunnawal, one of the Indigenous languages spoken in the district by Aboriginal Australians that was before Europeans.
