Cuba is a country comprising the island of Cuba, located at the east of the Mexico, south of US state of Florida and the Bahamas, Haiti and Dominican Republic to the west, and Jamaica and the Cayman Islands to the north. Cuba is the second-most populous country in the Caribbean after Haiti. Havana is the largest and capital city, other major cities are Santiago de Cuba, Camagüey, Holguín, Santa Clara, Guantánamo, Victoria de Las Tunas, Bayamo, Cienfuegos and Pinar del Río. Country code is CUB, Cuba was the Spanish colony from 15th century till 1898 and gained independence in 1902 as the Republic of Cuba. Cuba is considered part of Latin America. The official language of Cuba is Spanish, other spoken languages are Haitian, Creole and English.
