New York metropolitan is the largest metropolitan area with a estimated population of 19.3 million in 2021, covers area of 4,669.0 sq mi, followed by Los Angeles metropolitan area is the second biggest with an estimated population of 13 million, Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim. Chicago metropolitan area is the third largest MSA city by population with estimates of 9.5 million, Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington or the Metroplex is the fourth largest MSA city by population with estimates of 7.75 million, Greater Houston is the fifth biggest city by MSA, Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, with a population 7.2 million.
