According to 2006 census stats, Niger population by ethnic groups are 53.1 percent are Hausa and are largest linguistic group, 21.2 percent are Zarma & Songhay(Songhai), 11.0 percent are Tuareg or Tamashek, 6.5 percent are Fulani or Fula, 5.9 percent are Kanuri, 0.8 percent are Gurma, 0.4 percent are Toubou, 0.4 percent are Arab and 0.9 percent are others.
