Oman is a country in Western Asia, borders United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Saudi Arabia, maritime borders with Iran and Pakistan. It is situated on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. According to world bank estimates, Oman population in 1960 is 551,735, by 1970 the population is increased by 172,107 totaling to 723,842, by 1980 the population is increased to 1,154,373, and by 1990 the total increase of 1,812,158 in 30 years from 1960 to 1990 resulting to 1,812,158. From 1990 to 2000, population increased by 455,815 to 2,267,973, and from 2000 to 2010 the population of Oman increase by 773,462 with a change of 34.10 percent and increase of population from 2010 to 2020 by 2,065,187 with a change of 67.90 percent and make up to 5,106,622. Oman population in 2023 is estimated to be 5.55 million, population in 2022 is estimated to be 5.48 million, Population of Oman in 2021 is estimated as 5.41 million.
According to timesofoman, Out of total 4.58 million Oman people in 2022, 2.88 million are estimated as Omani nationals, 1.7 million are estimated as foreigners working in Oman. As on 2022, 758,309 expatriates in Muscat, followed by 231,171 in North Al Batinah, 199,867 in Southern Dhofar region, 114,290 in South Al Batinah, 113,371 in Ad Dakhiliyah, 14,963 in Northern Musandam region and 27,416 in Al Wusta region. Of the major expatriates, Bangladeshi nationals continue to lead the number with 528,682, followed by Indians with 491,427 and the Pakistanis are in the third position with 182,885. Other migrants include about 50 thousand from Indonesia, 30 thousand from Philippines and 15 thousand Sri Lanka. Migrants from Arab countries include from Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, UAE, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and there were 20 thousand from Europe and United States.
