Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island and unincorporated territory of the United States, located between Dominican Republic and the U.S. Virgin Islands, in the northeast Caribbean Sea, approximately 1,000 miles southeast of Miami, Florida. As a U.S. territory, Puerto Rico is neither a state nor an independent country. Puerto Rico population in 2024 is estimated to be 3.19 million, covers country area of 9,104 sq km (3,515 sq mi), ranks one-hundred-thirty-fifth most populous country in the world. Its capital is San Juan, other popular cities are Bayamón, Carolina, Ponce, Caguas, Guaynabo, Arecibo, Toa Baja, Mayagüez and Trujillo Alto. Country code is PRI.

Puerto Rico population in 1960 is 2,358,000, by 1970 the population is increased by 360,000 totaling to 2,718,000, by 1980 the population is increased to 3,206,000, and by 1990 the total increase of 3,537,000 in 30 years from 1960 to 1990 resulting to 3,537,000. From 1990 to 2000, population increased by 273,605 to 3,810,605, and from 2000 to 2010 the population of Puerto Rico decrease by -89,080 with a change of -2.34 percent and further decline of population from 2010 to 2020 by -527,491 with a change of -14.17 percent and make up to 3,194,034 as per world bank. Puerto Rico population in 2023 is estimated to be 3.2 million, population in 2022 is estimated to be 3.1 million, Population of Puerto Rico in 2021 is estimated as 3 million.
